Midtown Christian Community Church is a group of people who are learning to live in the way of Jesus by serving the North Hill neighborhood of Springfield, Ohio. We visit our neighborhood friends on Saturday afternoons. Then we meet at the Red Brick Church for music, prayer, and learning. After that we have a dinner and everybody is welcome to show up. So they do.
Then we have programs for kids, including Extreme Team. Isn't that cool?
Our new schedule goes like this:
Worship at 5 pm. No kids' programs during this time. Kids must be supervised in worship service.
Dinner at 6 pm. All are welcome.
Kids' programs at 6:30. Ending at 7:30.
Midweek small groups meet Wednesday nights at 7 pm. One group is at the Whitmores' house and the other is at the Gombisses's. (Or however you do the possessive form of their name. Awkward.)
Midtown has no paid staff. We did this on purpose because we can't afford it. So we just divide up all the things that need to be done and everyone gets busy.
Midtown shares the glorious old Red Brick Church with our partners, The Children's Rescue Center, Faith Tabernacle Church, and Parents as Teachers preschool. We love these people, and work with them, and learn from them.
